学院简介

中山大学由孙中山先生创办于1924年，是一所包括人文科学、社会科学、自然科学、技术科学、医学、药学和管理科学等在内的综合性大学有“华南第一学府”的美誉。

中山大学岭南（大学）学院源于岭南大学。原岭南大学于1888年始创于广州。到20世纪30年代，岭南大学已发展成为一所综合性的著名大学，在海内外拥有广泛影响，和世界上一些著名大学相互承认学历。1952年,在全国院系调整中,岭南大学有关科系分别并入中山大学和其他高等院校。1987年12月，中山大学岭南（大学）学院经国家教委批准成立。

学院成立以来，立志成为国内一流、国际知名的商学院，致力于理论经济学，应用经济学和工商管理等学科的建设和发展。在工商管理学科发展方面，岭南学院开展了与国际知名商学院的广泛合作--1999年起与美国麻省理工学院斯隆管理学院合办国际MBA项目，2001年起与美国明尼苏达大学卡尔森管理学院合办EMBA项目（CHEMBA），2003年起与美国加州大学伯克利分校合办医药卫生管理EMBA项目（h-EMBA），2001年起与法国里昂高等管理学院以及里昂第三大学合办国际贸易高级专业证书（DESS）项目。这些国际合作为岭南学院的工商管理教育提供了国际资源和网络。

项目概况

在学院董事会及董事会名誉主席叶葆定先生的积极推动和慷慨资助下，中山大学岭南（大学）学院和美国麻省理工学院斯隆管理学院，从1999年开始合办国际MBA项目（International MBA简称国际MBA或IMBA）。这是继与清华大学，复旦大学合作之后，麻省理工斯隆管理学院在中国合作开设的第三个国际MBA项目。国际MBA学生毕业时将获得由中山大学颁发的国家承认的学历和学位以及麻省理工学院斯隆管理学院颁发的课程证书。麻省理工学院斯隆管理学院是全球著名的商学院之一，2004年的US News & World Report全美商学院排行榜位居第四。2002年10月，在斯隆管理学院50周年的庆典上，斯隆管理学院1972级校友联合国秘书长安南亲临祝贺。
中山大学岭南学院―麻省理工学院国际MBA项目课程，采用MIT斯隆管理学院的教学体系和大部分的课程设置，采用英文教学，并使用由斯隆管理学院提供的最新教材、阅读文献和教学案例。斯隆管理学院每年委派教授到岭南学院为国际MBA学生讲学以及与国际MBA教师交流，此外斯隆管理学院的教授还经常通过视频会议系统与岭南MBA教师一起向MBA学生联合授课。岭南学院每年选派四位教师到斯隆管理学院进行为期半年的MBA课程进修，他们和斯隆管理学院的教授一起开发MBA课程、研究MBA教学方法。斯隆管理学院的MBA学生每年春季定期访问岭南，与岭南学院国际MBA学生就团队建设、领导力发展、管理沟通和职业发展等方面进行交流和讨论。
中山大学岭南学院―麻省理工学院国际MBA项目，从一开始就依托MIT等国际著名商学院的教学资源并借鉴国际化的办学经验进行教学，它是站在巨人的肩膀上起步的国际化MBA项目。岭南学院国际MBA项目秉承中山大学岭南（大学）学院“作育英才，服务社会”的办学理念，以“荟萃全球精英，造就国际英才”为使命，倡导“团队、宽容、责任、诚信”的价值观和企业家精神，致力于培养能够适应经济全球化、具有进行国际化经营管理能力的商业精英。

--全英文教学
岭南学院国际MBA项目一直坚持采用全英文教学。全英文教学使得岭南学院国际MBA学生可以直接享用国际教学资源，包括外教授课、英文教材和案例，并在国际交换、境外实习和国际比赛中轻松突破语言障碍进行国际化交流。作为国内少数坚持以全英文教学的MBA项目，从2000年起岭南学院国际MBA项目开始招收外国留学生和接收外国交换生。岭南学院国际MBA毕业生扎实的专业基础和良好的外语能力也得到了其就业跨国公司的认可。

--国际化的教学方式
岭南学院国际MBA项目课程采用斯隆管理学院的课程体系以及教材案例，以案例教学的方式讲解理论，启迪思维，激发智慧，让理论与实践融会贯通，深入浅出。所有岭南国际MBA课程都是岭南学院的教师在斯隆管理学院与该院教授共同开发，并把斯隆的教学资料和教学方法科学地“嫁接”到中国的商务实践中的。

--国际化的师资
为了保证师资队伍的质量，岭南学院每年斥巨资将学院的教师派赴世界各国的知名学府进修、研究或交流；另外，聘任大量富有专业经验的外籍教师来院任教国际MBA课程，每学期均有来自麻省理工斯隆管理学院、英国曼切斯特大学商学院、瑞典斯特哥尔摩商学院、丹麦哥本哈根商学院等著名学府的外国教授以及跨国企业的高层人员来我院讲学、任教，他们给岭南学院国际MBA项目带来了最新的管理知识和企业实践，而且教授的课程大约占全部课程的三分之一。

--国际交换
岭南学院国际MBA已与北美洲、欧洲、澳洲及亚洲的8个国家的12所知名学府开展交换学生项目。2004年共有29个学生有机会到国外知名商学院完成部分课程，了解和学习不同的社会文化和商业文明。

--国际比赛
自2002年起，岭南学院的国际MBA学生每年都参加Asia Moot Corp Business Plan Competition（亚洲商业计划比赛），并先后夺得“Asia Moot Corp 2002（亚洲商业计划比赛2002）”的冠军和“MOOT CORP 2002（全球创业计划2002）”比赛前十强。

--境外实习
每年暑期，岭南学院国际MBA学生都有机会到香港和新加坡、马来西亚等东南亚国家实习。岭南学院国际MBA项目已与一批跨国公司建立起长期的合作关系，为岭南学院国际MBA的学生提供了暑期实习和就业机会。不少实习学生由于表现突出，获得赏识，在实习之后就成为了实习企业的正式雇员。

Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-sen University was named after Lingnan Universitywhich was first founded in Guangzhou in 1888. In 1952as a result of the reorganization of all the universities in Chinadepartments of Lingnan University were incorporated into Sun Yat-sen University and other universities. In December 1987Lingnan ( University) College of Sun Yat-sen University was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education of China.

Overview of the Program
The Lingnan International MBA Program was launched in 1999. Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou joined MIT Sloan ?C China Management Education Projectfollowing the other two distinguished Chinese educational institutions ― Tsinghua University (Beijing) and Fudan University (Shanghai). The MIT Sloan School of Management is ranked the top 4 overall in 2004 by US News & World Report. On the School’s 50th an niversary in October 2002U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annandelivered the opening address as a 1972 alumnus.
MIT Sloan MBA curriculum and teaching methods are adopted in Lingnan International MBA Programtogether with textbookscasesand other teaching materials. MIT Sloan also provides the schools' libraries with textsreference bookssubscriptions to CD-ROM and online database systems that give access to more than 2,700 journals and newspapers.
Every semesterthere are two Lingnan faculties going t o MIT Sloan to develop the core and elective courses they will teach at Lingnan. And MIT Sloan faculty also regularly visit Lingnan. Both faculty conduct faculty workshopsand teach or co-teach IMBA classes. With the aid of videoconferencing technologyMIT Sloan faculty are able to teach Lingnan IMBA on varied topics as well. FurthermoreLingnan IMBAs work with MIT Sloan studentswho usually visit Lingnan during spring breakon skill development in teamworkleadershipcommunications and career development.

Teaching in English
International MBA program offered by Lingnan (University) College is the first one in China that sticks to teaching all courses in English. This enables the students to have direct access to international education resourcesincluding foreign facultylatest business textbooks and casesoversea exchanging studyoversea internship and international competitions. Since 2000Lingnan (University) College International MBA Program has started to admit international students and launched overseas exchanges with associated schools. Graduated IMBAs win high recognition of multinational employers for their professional performances and good command of English.

Internationalized Teaching Methods
The program implements the course structure and cases from Sloan. All courses taught in the program are developed by the faculty of L(U)C and Sloan togethera perfect combination of Sloan’s teaching meth odology and the business practice in China.

Internationalized Faculty

International Competitions
Ever since 2002Lingnan International MBA students attend the Asia Moot Corp Business Plan Competition every year. They won the championship of Asia Moot Corp 2002 and then participated the global MOOT CORP competition held in University of Texas and was ranked top ten among the 33 teams from all over the world.

Overseas Internship
Every summermany of Lingnan International MBA students are offered with the internship opportunities by multinational companies in Hong KongSingaporeMalaysia and other Southeast Asian regions and countries.
